I believe in creating a safe place is that allows opportunity to build trust and connection. Openning up can be scary, As you to learn skills and self understanding yo increase confindence as well as success. Changing thoughts and perspective will allow you to gain control over old fears and habits. Life experiences, big and small, can leave scars on us which can be labelled as anxiety, depression or trauma. Traumatic events such as accidents, illness, abuse or major loses can create a sense of numbing or shutting down that make it difficult to experience happiness or even relaxation. I believe in your ability and capacity to feel better. Providing experienced knowledgeable and individualized care is my specialty. I work in a nurturing collaborative manner to create an environment that allows you to feel supported. I use practical concept and strategies to practice new behaviors to increase confidence. I have specialty license which allows alternative methods of communicating such as video chat, or email. Our office is designed to maximize comfort and personal privacy. I have the experience and knowledge required in working with trauma, panic and anxiety issues. I love helping adolescents, adults and couples with issues.

I strive to create a safe space in counseling where people can fully delve into their shadows; while also reflecting the brightness they experience as they integrate these shadows and move towards their goal of ideal self. I support clients in this process by conveying warmth, encouragement, and relatability. I pride myself on connecting with clients through straightforward and open dialogue about what brought them to counseling and what I can offer them as a therapist. I enjoy working with all ages and presenting problems although individuals who have experienced trauma, and those struggling with disordered eating and self-image issues are my passion. I am currently pursuing a specialty as an eating disorder therapist and working towards certification as an EMDR practitioner. My theoretical perspective is grounded in person-centered theory while I also integrate techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment theory, and body-awareness practices. I received my masters in mental health counseling from the University of Arkansas. I have worked with young adults in a collegiate setting, children and teens in a residential facility for those struggling with maladaptive sexual behaviors, and most recently, with students and their families in the junior high and high school setting. I am also certified as a 500hr. Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). These experiences and trainings have encouraged me to view my clients from a holistic perspective, considering all aspects of life that impact treatment, and through that awareness supporting them in creating lasting change! The "golden hour", a time of day directly after sunrise and before sunset is characterized by bright rays of sunshine, but also long shadows. The "golden hour" can be used a metaphor for those entering therapy. The process of therapy will bring issues to the surface that seem dark and difficult, but these shadows serve to make the bright (sunshine) moments that much more warming and enlightening.
